Advanced Technology for a Smarter Smile

At Formula Implants, we've invested heavily in cutting-edge digital technology to make your implant treatment precise, predictable, and comfortable. With all of these advanced tools under one roof, we deliver precision, comfort, and a smoother experience for every patient.

CBCT 3D Imaging

We use CBCT 3D imaging to examine your jaw and surrounding structures in exceptional detail, ensuring every implant is placed safely and accurately.

Digital Intra-Oral Scanners

Digital intra-oral scanners capture quick, precise 3D models of your teeth and gums, replacing messy traditional impressions.

iCam Positioning System

Immediately after implant placement, the iCam system records the exact 3D position of your implants, ensuring your final restoration fits perfectly.

Plasma Surface Activation

We are the only practice in the UK to use Plasma Surface Activation, optimising the implant surface for stronger, more predictable integration.

The Formula Protocols

At Formula Implants, we follow the Formula Protocols, a carefully designed workflow that combines advanced techniques, modern digital technology, and specialist materials to deliver precise, stable, and long-lasting implant results.

We are one of a small number of clinics adopting this technology within our workflow, allowing us to deliver a fully integrated approach to full arch dental treatment and apply it consistently across every implant we place.

The Protocol Step by Step

Each stage of our protocol is designed to maximise healing, precision, and long-term success.

1

Plasma Surface Activation

Before placement, we clean and energise the implant surface using Plasma Surface Activation. This makes it more receptive to bone and blood proteins, supporting faster and more predictable healing. We are the only practice in the UK to use this technology.

2

Microgap Protection with Viruseal

All dental implants have a microgap - the tiny interface between the implant and the abutment. If left unprotected, this space can allow bacteria to enter and contribute to inflammation over time. At Formula Implants, we take an additional step by sealing this microgap with Viruseal, creating a protective barrier as part of our protocol.

3

Screw Channel Sealing

We secure the abutment screw channel using Sil-Flow and Silver-Plug, both medical grade products, creating a hygienic and stable environment for every implant. In contrast, most other practices in the UK use PTFE tape, also known as plumber’s tape, to fill the screw channel. Clinical studies have shown that over time PTFE can degrade and harbour bacteria, increasing the risk of peri-implant inflammation and implant failure. By using materials specifically designed for dental implants, we reduce this risk and protect the long-term health of your implants.

4

iCam Digital Capture

Once healed, the iCam digital system records the exact three-dimensional position of each implant, ensuring restorations fit perfectly, function naturally, and look beautiful.

Why It Matters

The materials and methods we use are chosen for a reason. Here is how our approach compares to what most UK practices offer.

Formula Implants

  • Plasma Surface Activation for stronger integration
  • Viruseal microgap protection on every implant
  • Medical-grade Sil-Flow and Silver-Plug screw sealing
  • iCam 3D digital positioning for perfect fit
  • Fully integrated digital workflow

Most UK Practices

  • No surface activation technology
  • Microgap often left unprotected
  • PTFE (plumber's tape) used in screw channels
  • Traditional impression methods
  • Fragmented analogue processes
